Medicaid Law and Practice: Part 1

In New York State, disabled adults between 21 and 64 years of age, who do not yet receive Medicare, are eligible to apply for Medicaid using the Median Adjusted Gross Income Standard (MAGI standard). The MAGI standard allows the recipient to have a larger monthly income (up to $1,273.00 per month). It should also be noted that the MAGI standard has no resource test whatsoever. However, MAGI Medicaid does not cover nursing home or other long term care services.
